On May 8, 2025, TAIWAN INNOVATION NIGHT 2025 lit up the JETRO Innovation Garden in Tokyo with a vibrant evening of cross-border innovation and exchange! Co-organized by Mighty Net, Startup Island TAIWAN, and Nirik Inc., the event was themed “Shaping the Future with AI & Digital Transformation (DX),” focusing on how Taiwanese startups can partner with Japan to co-create the next wave of AI and DX advancements. Entrepreneurs, investors, and key industry enablers gathered to share hands-on insights and visionary perspectives.
▮ Opening & Resource Sharing: Exploring Japan’s Startup Ecosystem
Following a brief opening, we welcomed Sho Yamanaka from Salesforce, Yula Xiong from Fujitsu Ventures, Koki Funane from JETRO, and Chloe Chen from AWS to discuss the latest trends in open innovation and the potential for applying them in Japan–Taiwan collaborations.
▮ Panel Discussion: VC and Startup Insights
The next session featured a panel titled “Shaping the Future with AI & Digital Transformation,” moderated by Chi Ko of Startup Island TAIWAN. Panelists included Ray Tai (Mighty Net), Jackey Wang (DuoInsight Venture), Norman Chang (UMCCapital), and Ray Chiu (Co-founder of Calyx), who explored how emerging AI and DX trends are creating new opportunities for Taiwan–Japan collaboration on the global stage.
▮Startup Showcase & Networking
Six innovative Taiwanese startups also joined the event to showcase their cutting-edge technology solutions: Avalanche Computing (AI model training acceleration), Eslitec with its MantaGO chatbot platform, VM-Fi (multilingual AI real-time interpretation), MoBagel Inc. (AI-powered decision-making for enterprises), ECOCO (smart recycling systems), and Gocochain (smart temperature monitoring for supply chains).
TAIWAN INNOVATION NIGHT 2025 attracted around 200 innovation partners from diverse fields to join this vibrant gathering. From opening trend insights and practical panel discussions to the showcase of cutting-edge Taiwanese startup technologies, the event fostered meaningful Taiwan–Japan collaboration and highlighted the strength and potential of Taiwan’s AI and digital transformation capabilities.
